When they call my cousin she says," Can I ask you a question?(Before they talk) Im sure people say bad things to you. Wot is the worst someone has said to you?" Then she puts the phone down on the sofa and lets them talk for a while.
I other hand simply say sorry im quite busy.

I talk over them until they listen to me and say really quickly thank you very much but I really don't need this because of whatever reason and I say goodbye and hang up.

I'm on the Do Not Call List..........so they don't call. I used to ask them if I could get their home number and I would call them back later............Or, just hand the phone to my 3 yr. old nephew at the time and let him talk. Back then they couldn't hang up until they had heard no 3 times from the customer.

I myself, don't ask any questions. I will either tell them Wait hang on a minute, then set the phone down and walk away and do whatever I was doing, OR I will just tell them NOT INTERESTED and hang up.

I pretend to be sick and tell them it isn't a very good time right now and ask if they would please let me go, and I normally interrupt somewhere to cough and pour some water in the toilet, it sounds remarkably like regergetation over the phone. Also, it is a good idea to keep a pitcher/bucket of water by the toilet to perform this strange stunt, I do a few others but this one is my favorite.

They don't call me, I'm ont the Do Not Call list, prior to the Do Not Call List, I would put the telephone next to the radio of a Talk Radio Station!

I ask them to snail mail me the information so that I have a hard copy to peruse and time to make a decision.
To date, I've never received a thing.
They 'reckon' that they can't do that. They also use words like 'limited offer' etc. I just say, 'oh well, looks like I miss out then'. Then I hang up.

Most of the time I hang up but one time this stupid company kept calling and asking for my husband. We didn't do business w/ them and they had no business calling either. I told them that I was a grieving widow that he had died in a car crash (which was a total lie) and to please not call me anymore.
Never heard a peep out of them again

I tell them to call at some weird time (like 12:52) or tell them I don't live in a house and whatever they sell me is pointless because I can buy it

Mainly, I screen my calls. Caller ID was the best invention ever! But every now and then one sneaks through. I just hang up!

I usually hang up or ask them to take me off of their list. I don't get many calls at home but I get tons at work.
