Honestly, it didn't make much sense. I think it was supposed to be that her dad died or something, and she hadn't seen him recently so she felt bad, maybe? But as far as the whole circus thing, I got nothin.

it seems to me like the old guy following her around is a family member or something that died and she's regretting being wound up in her fame and not spending more time at home with them before they passed . . . just a guess

it means okay her father died and she was trying to say that she was sorry for never talking to him or forgiving him,he was trying to watch her in the circus and love her as a little girl and now she feels bad that she never got to say goodbye!!
