I think i found a position that i like but i'm not sure if it fits me... I'm 6'0'' 140lbs and I can "stuff" a few guys. If i had to i could make shots from some distance away (not good at close- range). I think i might be the tallest on my team (there might be one more guy taller). I'm not CORDINATED, i'm NOT a run-around dunking kinda guy, but i can jump well. I'm a freshman and my high school is state champ for Varsity bball. what position BEST fits me. if u think its center or something please give me a reason why. thanx

You better learn how to play the point.

Don't listen to the rest of these answers a 6 foot freshman is not going to play a guard position! Power foward is probably the best position for you. If you are a very consistent shooter and can hit mid range jumpers and threes, then I would say small foward is the best position for you. If you improve your low post game, rebounding, and bulk up a little bit then you could probably play center too.

wow, ur in a very awkward position.
(known as tweeners* in the NBA)
You compare very closely to a Malik Rose or a Charles Barkley.
You have allot of size but not much tallness.
I would recommend that you alternate between a SF and PF (depending on who you play).
Try posting smaller guys when u play at SF, and simply boxing out when you have taller guys on you.
Your a freshman, if you could grow a few more inches that would help you tons.
Whats the average size of the opponents?
If the opposing center is a similar size you have a perfect matchup otherwise stick to PF/SF.
If you could loose a few pounds, (about 10-15), you would fit nicely as an all around SF, sorta like Ron Artest.-Me

*A tweener in basketball is a term, sometimes used derisively, for a player who is able to play two positions, but is not ideally suited to play either position exclusively, so he/she is said to be in between.
*"Tweeners" often have the skills of a big man, but the height of a guard. Though only six foot five, Charles Barkley was one of the NBA's greatest rebounding power forwards." -Wiki

no power forward for you. let's be honest, if you have a love for the game, then you certainly don't want high school to be the final frontier of your career. eventually you're going to take a shot at going to the next level....am i right? that being said, my advice would be to work on your coordination. Practice, but not just dribbling (although you must improve your dribble). try continuously wrapping the ball around your waiste, switching directions after every 10 reps. just practice holding on to the ball. i would say run, run, run, and keep running. jumping rope helps your footwork, but you also need to work on your perimeter game. once you leave the high school ranks, 6 ft is a short point guard, so you really have only one choice and that's to be prepared to handle the guard spot. should you suddenly grow an extra 9 or 10 inches, then you'll be a power forward with exceptional ball handling skills...and that would make you unstoppable.

Well it depends on how dominant you are in the low post. But at my school you'd probably be either a small forward or a power forward because we have this guy thats 6' 4" 245lbs and he's our center

Center b/c you;re the tallest and not very coordinated. All you have to do is stuff who comes at you and grab rebounds. Centers aren't really looked upon to score much

Your 6', so point guard would be nice position for you. Go to the gym and practice dribbling and your defense. Jump rope and do squats more to increase your hops.

To have success at that position, you'd have to be at least 6-7 or taller, and have a good wing span.

i'd say guard, but your only a freshmen you should still grow, a couple more inches and i might say small forward since it sounds like you have a pretty good shot, but even that would be a little short

Well you could be a Power Forward, just do whatever you're best and favorite position is and just practice to get better at it.
