It seems that SA has been getting a lot of negative attention, not only from the English media who are using it as a means of diverting attention from their equally hopeless team but also from fans ranging from England (no surprise there), Aus, Sri Lanka, all over the place, seem to be taking out some sort of personal vendetta against SA.

Yes we are playing like utter crap and we will be out soon but all this ripping into the South African team is just plain childish. I would expect this sort of thing from football fans but not in cricket! India and Pakistan were knocked out in shock defeats but I didn't hear of anyone cussing them - so why single us out?! We're not an arrogant team, we've admitted we've made mistakes every step of the way, unlike England who are the most arrogant of teams, anyone notice that they're playing just as badly?!

Clearly the WC brings out the worst in people as everyone seems to take it so personally! It's really quite pathetic to watch...

Damn I didn't mean to provoke an actual attack on England's culture and history, just saying that SA is unfairly getting it in the neck right now - damn Mark you've got some serious anger management issues there!

nalakafairly - I've no idea what you're on about, your sentences are all over the place but I disagree it's about patriotism with you - you've posted so many questions which have nothing to do with the WC and are just a blatant diss against South Africans - I'm convinced you've a problem with us as a country! It's a pretty narrow-minded attitude to have. I certainly didn't diss the Kiwis or Bangladesh for beating us, they were the better teams on the day. It's about time people laid off the South Africans!

You've made an excellent point there. I agree. The English (we call them "Poms" over here in Australia) are the worst and the most arrogant bastards you can find.

And yet, what have they really done to make them think they can strut around like peacocks?

In truth, they have caused more misery and suffering in this world than almost any other race.

How so? Well, just ask the Red Indians in North America (US and Canada), the Aborigines of Australia, the Maoris of NZ and as well as the blacks of S. Africa. The blacks of Africa are somewhat more lucky. They may have been colonised and cruelly discriminated against, but the Red Indians of Canada and America, the Aborigines and the Maoris fared much worse. They have lost their lands and countries forever. I can go on, but the list is getting long, so I'll name just one more of their so-called "achievements".

And what's that? Well, ask them what their proud forefathers did when they arrived in China. For all their holier-than-thou hypocrisy of their descendants today, they won't be able to deny that they were the same scums and bastards who peddle opium and drugs to the Chinese masses from Monday to Saturday - and then preach to them about God and salvation on Sunday!

What do i imagine?? i imagine BULLS*IT. Spain have an truly sturdy probability, and notwithstanding Xavi, Iniesta and Torres have had damage problems, they have nevertheless been taking section in o.k.. as well, with midfielders like Xabi Alonso, David Silva, De la red, Marcos Senna, and Cesc Fabregas, Spain can cope with with no few key gamers. Oh and for the record, France received the ninety 8 WC and went on to win their next important competition, the Euro 2000, so that you're incorrect, if a team wins a important tournament it does no longer mean they're going to lose their next one.

I do not think that this is not a forum to pass on comments totarnish the image of any team and to express partisan comments about the performance of the team. This should be an impartial forum and better cricket should be appreciated irrespective of which country plays the game.

First of all i regret if i hurt any fellow cricket fan's feelings!
Cricket is one of the glorious games
that nations all over the world
get together in every 4 years or so
to compete for a coveted cup.
Olympic & soccer world cup held in every 4 years too.
i dont see any vandtta behind pure patriotism.
this is not a imparcial forum
for cricket as i I rightly observe.
.
I have my reasons.
All top teams who are thrown out of semi finals
Gonna get some serious bash.
Do you have any idea about
,What happened to Chappel,Inzy,Vengsarkar,Dhoni,
Sachin,Woolmer,Lara & etc..etc...etc....?????

Cricket is not any "big player's" Legacy.
It's there for fans.
Cricket lives cuz there are fans to watch it & critizise it.
it's fair. people love the game. they love winning.
but whenever their favourite teams start losing ,
irrespective of the team's "so called high standards"
every solitary fan have their say!
Frankly, that's what i think of your accusation.
Plz dont take it personaly.
we dont do "critisism" as our job.
i mean for our "hand to mouth ecxistance".
Are we?
i dont think so.
then why bickering..?
But now i realize it's OK too.....for a certain extent.
Yes,this forum is educational ,yet entertaining.
Why try to impose boring attitude about it?
Then it's lame.
go with your lil' personal banter,it's not a big deal.
Yes this is "gentlemen's Game".
Actually Cricket Fans in this forum can take this game to a
much more vibrant level.
And they are the people who can
take this to Another diamention too.
I mean make it popular.
In 1996 pinch hitting openers "sanath-Kalu"
took one day game to a new diamention.
"Shane & Murali"took the spin bowling in to another diamention.
so i dont feel any patriotism with
"Little bit of goodwill "do any
harm for the game of Cricket &
for the Fans,as you would suggest.
Backing their country is not a crime.
It's Almost Every Fan's beleife that
OZ,SL,NZ,SA ,are the worthy semi finalists.
But the bottom line is >Players must
live up to their own standards!.
Don't be the prey in your own web.
The irony is ............The Fans ,as human beings
never tolerate any fluctuation of rankings..
the thing is........ achieving something-important ,
is lot easier than Maintaining it.
After "one" reach his "self-Actualisation"..........
It's deadly dangerous.
He becomes easy - prey in most instances.
Look what really happened to that great Coach?
I dont think so.
Do you realise what's happening to the once-
Mighty West Indians?
Do anybody care?.
With due respect,..............
Mr.Jay take it easy, sir
When Kenya reach semi Finalists had anybody tried to back them & support to gain "Test Status"?
You hail from African continant i presume...
did anybody support Kenya?
No i dont think so.
Most recently ICC
banned "USA Cricket Board"
Do you know what,s the charge?
I dont think so.
Me,........ being Canadian,I know little bit about
Canadian team's problems...
they are getting older..They dont stand much Future.

What you gonna do about it,Sir
Nothing I suppose.
So......... shedding Crokedile tears won't help .
Plz try to tolerate-deferant ideas of fellow Cricket Fans.
Give it a little try to propegate our Cricket.!
instead being ......um...nasty !.
...One should be fair & square.
Honestly,I am not taking this personally.
so why you take this personally?
Atleast we have something common.
I think there's no harm to assume that -It's Love of Cricket

i know what Canadian & Us Baseball fans
say about our cricket.
They have manymore games to enjoy .
they are vastly spead all over the world.
But our cricket..?
Only have 99 Associate countries.
If anybody love their cricket-in their own way,
.....Let them enjoy.
Long live cricket !
