It's illegal to "Trash" human remains, even ashes. Every County in the US has what's called a "Paupers Field" they bury it and give it a number. Sad isn't it?

The remains, or ashes, belong to the next of kin of the decedent who had died. It is the responsibility of the personal representative of the estate to make sure that the remains are delivered to that person or in the alternative are buried somewhere.
