....To Operation Push. Doesn't That Discredit Their Claims That Imus Didn't Pander To A Racist Audience Or Are We Being Too Sensitive Again Concerning The Racist Mail & Bomb Threats? What Did The Rutgers Team Do To Deserve That? They Even Accepted His Apology. And Bomb Threats?, No Opinion Of Jesse Jackson Makes That Acceptable.

plagame_extre...hey when you get bomb threats, you just let it go...hey no big deal right?

Well it was Don Imus' wife who "claimed" the team was getting "hate mail", who knows why she "claimed" that. I guess when the "authorities" verifyed the bomb threats they were just "claiming" to back it up-so go figure. Hey if "poor" multi-millionaire Imus can lose his job "racist" Jackson & "Sharpton (who claim white people like the Clintons are some of their "best friends"-the nerve of them!) can be murdered-hey that's fair.

Imus didn't "pander"to a racist audience.
His audience included John McCain and John Kerry and 3 million other people.
A few crank letters and 1 crank call to Jesse Jackson headquarters does not make a racist conspiracy.

Probably because they are idiots. I don't believe that Imus would agree with them sending racist mail, and bomb threats to the Rutgers Basketball Team. The girls at Rutgers were not responsible for Imus's being fired. They never wanted him fired. This whole thing has gotten out of hand, and now it seems like it's just a great big 'ball of confusion.' There will never be any peace until God is at the center of the conference table.

Well, they are racist and just because they not ready to don the white hoods and robes don't mean otherwise. Imus got what hes deserved. He could be face a Multi-million dollar law suit for assassination of character, slander, and anguish that the whole situation is causing them. Because while rap music is bad and I'm offend by it to the point that i don't listen to it even in someone else car when I'm stuck in traffic. They never took the time out to make a point to target a specific group of college girls with degrading and racist statements. Honestly if situation was different and it had been a group of white girls that it happened to their wouldn't have even had to be a racist statement the person would have be fired, and that's the bottom line. People are threatening those girls because now they have a place for their hate of black people to go. These girls, to the racist, are a scapegoat now they have some where however unjustly to direct there anger, hate and bitterness.

I guess Imus fans are just outraged that he was fired. What Imus say was wrong but he did apologize and was accepted by the Rutgers women basketball team. Some of his fans just feel that is not right for him to lose job like that so they decided to take anger out another way. As far as Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson go , they done some good things but at time they went too far. Last year when Duke Lacross students were accused for assault a young woman , Al came out and rip those students , recently , its declared , those students are innocent. Where is Al to apologized ? No where. (In addition , he insulted my ethinc background awhile back calling Asians "Yellow Monkey"

I agree. The Rutgers women's basketball team had done nothing to deserve the comment that Imus made much less the threats that they're getting. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are the one's making all the stink.

Absolutely! This is NOT the first time Imus has made insulting racial comments...and perhaps if he is canned, it might be the LAST time. How do you say "nappy headed hos" without malice? However, Imus is not the only public figure who has disrespected black women. What about Eddie Murphy with is disgusting Norbit movie? What about the producers of Big Mama's house? When are people going to stop treating black women as we are fair game when it comes to stereotyping, defaming and demeaning? I for am just tired of it! It's almost like you have to be thin and blonde to get any sort of respect or love in this society...and it stinks!!!

Well, I don't believe there was more than a few crank letters as the questioner describes. This issue has been blown up by the media and Al Sharpton to a very emotional state by some who see it as overblown and consistantly reported over and over for weeks. I believe a few crank letters can be expected. I think it would be interesting to know just how many of those nasty threats they got.
It might be interesting too,...to know how many crank letters Mr Imus got.
Don't you think?

That may not necessarily be a fan of Imus. But he is definitely responsible for that sick behavior. Whenever you draw attention to some one or group like that, you put them out there for all the crazy and very sick people. That is one reason Imus had to be fired. Those girls never put themselves out there as public figures; but he did to them.

what Imus said was stupid....but I've heard a lot worse out of other people's mouths in show biz about other races...nothing done about it. I don't think the people who made these threats are hate mongering racists....
as mentioned in one of the answers. I think they are just plain pissed off (double standard crap) as to how it was handled. I'd rather hear about "threats"
then an unruly mob rioting.

Why do I have the feeling it's going to turn out like the tawana Brawley and Duke Lacrosse players things?

Al Sharpton *claims* to be getting it too. Key word there is *claims*.

Edit - Imus's wife was probably told by someone from the team or someone representing the team that they were getting threats. So she made that statement. Can they actually produce proof? Again, or will it tour out like the other lies? (Tawana, etc)
