Sure, why not?
Then people would grow whatever they need at home, instead of having bands of illegal immigrants traffick in it or grow it in Los Altos hills.
The pot grow workers in the forest many of whom are illegal immigrants are probably armed, said Brooks; this year, authorities seized 19 firearms.
The majority of the marijuana growing operations in the National Forest are run by crime families out of Mexico, some of whom are well known in the area, Brooks said. These families, he explained, found it was hard to get the marijuana out of Mexico, so they moved to rural counties in the U.S. to grow the crops.
As a result, they bring people across the border, give them supplies and bring them up to live in the grow area, where these workers can earn between $10,000 and $30,000 per year, Brooks said. But the real profit is for the growers, as a single plant can be worth $7,000 and many grow plots, he said, have thousands of plants.

I use to think that when I was younger, but I have seen so many people that develop depression, anxiety and mental disorders from long time usage. What can start off as a bit of fun can lead to so many problems years down the track. So no, I don't think it should be legalised.... and it never will be anyway. I think cigarettes should be made illegal, as everyone knows all the problems it causes not only to the smoker but to those around them.
However, each to there own :)

actually the gov't does not make money off of it being illegal the money they make of the fines is just a drop in the bucket compared to trying to enforce and keep it off the streets. Medicinally I think it has uses where it can and probably should be legal. I am not sure weather it should be legal for general consumption but either way our drug policy will not be changed federally mainly because there are bigger fish to fry.

Lets face it. The government can make more money keeping it illegal. Its a natural plant God put on the earth, and has so many medicinal properties. I smoked a little in college, didnt like the paranoia it gave me, so I havent touched it in many years, but i dont think it should be illegal at all.

Of course, it's just about "Legal" everywhere else, it's ridiculous to keep it illegal, they should make anything under an ounce legal, let's stop wasting money chasing B.S. !
