i mean i didn't eat anything yesterday except for a few bites of food,( which is what starting anorexics do) but i still get cravings. i'm not hungry or anything. i just want to taste the food and i'll be alright. the hunger doesn't bother me. i think it's a good idea because i'm 180 lbs which is bad for a 12 yr old girl. i also drink green tea to get my cravings down. it works.

Yes, you need help with getting your weight down, but not eating isn't the answer. Not eating actually slows down your metabolism, your body thinks it's starving (which it is) so it holds on to every ounce of fat.
You need to talk with your mom & have her take you to the doc. & he/she will get you to a nutritionist, who will help you with you diet.

Since you are 12 I will explain this to you as best I can, first of all, you don't "go" anorexic. Second you are 12 do you want to die of hunger? Third if you starve your body of food, your body is going to memorize what you are doing, and the first time you eat something it is going to store it and you will gain weight twice as fast with every bite you take. So unless you plan on never eating again in your life, you may want to just diet and eat healthy food, that will make you lose weight faster, you will feel better and you will not harm your organs. When you have a sugar craving try fruit like melon, peaches, apples, that should stop your cravings. If you watch TV or look at magazines please keep in mind those pictures are airbrushed to perfection, no one is perfect. Go for walks and eat healthy do not try to learn a behavior that could kill.

Are you being serious? You WANT to become anorexic? At 12??? I've got a story for you....

I had a cousin that became anorexic at 15. She wasn't even fat... she was just "too heavy" to be lifted on the cheerleader squad, so she decided if she lost 10 or 20 pounds, she could be lifted and tossed and whatever else goes along with cheerleadering. Anyway, she ate nothing but green beans and water and did heavy exercising for 4 months and dropped 40 pounds (1/3 her body weight). Her blood pressure was 60/40. She couldn't walk, she couldn't stand. She could barely breathe on her own. She could barely sit up in bed with support. She had osteoperosis and numerous muscle problems. After she got out of the hospital, she had to quit the squad, quit volleyball, tennis, every sport and physical event she was in because she was just too fragile. Now, 5 years later at the age of 20, she still has to be careful about what she does. She has the body of an 80 year old woman and any fall she may take could lead her to breaking her hip or any other bone in her body. So if anorexia sounds good to you still, by all means, go for it. OR you could do what people who aren't lazy do and get up and work out and change their eating habits. If you really want to lose weight, you'll do it the right way. Cut out the junk food, fast food, sodas, sweeets, etc. Get up and go for a mile walk, ride a bike, take some dance lessons... anything to get your body moving and your heart pumping.

Horrible way to lose weight.

Seriously.

There becomes a point when you aren't taking in your adequate daily energy requirements your body will "devise" other means to supply the energy you need. Fat will come first. But is you're not meeting at least 1200 to 1500 kcalories a day your body will have to supply energy from other sources. The body a while to convert fat to glucose (energy). Much longer than other tissues like LEAN MUSCLES or organs which will result in serious, practically irreversible damage. If you continued to fast, you would experience a lengthy list of symptoms such as, fatigue, irratibility, memory problems, trouble concentrating, muscle aches and pains, etc. and if prolonged...brain damage, death, etc. All the symptoms are nearly impossible to list because there are so many that could result.

As human, we tend to recycle a large majority of what are body are composed of throughout our lives. The tissue of your small intestine one year ago has probably been entirely replaced by new nutrients that have come into your body(I'm uncertain of the exact time frame this would take but you get the point). Humans are in flux, therefore we need a constant supply of energy or food.

Don't go anorexic! You're body needs nutrition even more at this time, and you could land in the hospital if it doesn't get it!

Just make sure you eat your fruits and veggies, but don't live on just those, because you need a balance of everything, even a little bit of sugar! Don't eat too much of anything, but don't starve yourself. If you're hungry, have a light snack maybe, but don't get being hungry mixed up with wanting to eat.

And last (but not least!!), EXCERSICE!!!!!!

IT IS A STUPID IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your body needs to receive nuitrients, minerals and vitamin everyday.Being overweight means that your body is storing FAT, not these nuitrients. If you do not eat enough of these nuitrients everyday, this is what WILL eventually happen:

loss of bone density (your bones will get fragile and break)
poor nail health (nails will break easy, not be shiny, look horrible)
unhealthy hair (not shiny, falls out, breaks, looks yuk)
diabetes (can kill you, you can lose limbs, toes and fingers)
night blindness
unhealthy skin
rickets (leg bones bend)
beriberi(heart faliure, paralysis)
mental retardation
weak immune system (will get very sick-body cant fight infections)
scurvy (teeth fall out, old scars/cuts open up and wont heal)
death

And taking vitamin pills wont help at all. Many minerals/vitamins/nuitrients need to come from actually food to be absorbed by your body.
If you are overweight, you should diet. Anorexia is not a diet. It is a disease. It kills you.
Dont eat junk food or sugary stuff. Eat lots of fruit, veges, chicken and fish.
Posting questions like this is really dumb, as it makes real anorexics think that they are doing the right thing, so they keep starving themselves and they die...do you want to be responsible for that?

You don't want to go anorexic. That is dangerous. What you want to do, is go on a diet. Just eat normal portions (1 meat serving is the size of a deck of cards, a bread serving is like a hockey puck, and vegetable servings are usually 1/2 a cup) very slowly, small bites, for twenty minutes. It takes twenty minutes for your stomach to tell your brain that it's received food, so eat slowly. Don't go anorexic, that is dangerous, bad for your health, and you'll probably gain your weight back anyone. Remember, everyone is beautiful in their own way honey!

Don't go anorexic, for your own sake! That is not the way to go! If you want to lose weight just cut calories, eat the things you like, but eat less of them and eat five small meals a day, not three large ones. Many kids your age tend to be over weight due to bad eating practices and eating junk/fast foods, Also exercise, walk, jog, swim, engage in sports anything but exercise and eat less, but don't just stop eating.
Please!!!!!!

This isn't something you want to do. Why isn't there a parent around to notice how little you ate yesterday. I have a suggestion, try eating more raw veggies as snacks, also pick up a few extra outdoor hobbies. Losing weight the wrong way at your age can cause life long complications.

It is not good for you to be doing that! you aren't quite anorexic but you could become if you stay on the track that you are on. If you want to lose wait you should talk to someone that can help you do it the right way. Like your mother or a gym teacher or even a friend.

Anorexia and Bulemia are serious health conditions, which can egatively affect your health NOW and in the FUTURE.

It is common in our culture for teenager girls (and boys) to believe they are "too fat." If you are overweight, ask your parents to allow your doctor to give you an overall health exam, and then ask about an exercise program. Exercise will help you lose unnecessary weight, while building good muscle. Muscle helps continue burning fat.

Anorexia and bulemia, on the other hand, puts your electrolytes (needed for good health) out of balance. It eats up good muscle mass. It causes erosion in the esophagus and stomach lining, leading to stomach ulcer (which is painful and can lead to bleeding ulcer).

Anorexia and Bulemia can lead to heart problems and a host of other problems-- and can kill you.

I urge you to talk to your parents or trusted adult.
