actually no, there is only a small chance the baby will have anything wrong. First cousins are a little more than say 2nd cousins but still a very small chance! THats really only for brother/sister. I saw this on 20/20 and have read about it. People used to marry their cousins all the time 100-150 years ago. Thats not that long ago. Its just not done anymore so people see it as "weird" but I dont see the big deal! the real thing you have to worry about is your parents.

i understand which you're actually not after judgement yet regrettably that's what you will get from a superb type of folk. i've got been in an identical situation and did my examine. the possibility to the toddler is as a results of the fact absolutely everyone has defective genes and while 'prevalent' relationships bring about somewhat one, the place one has a defective gene the different has a typical gene and it overrides the defective one. In human beings from the comparable kinfolk have somewhat one jointly, there is extra danger that the two those human beings could have the comparable defective gene, which ability it incredibly is extra in all danger for the toddler to inherit this defective gene after that have issues. even though with a cousin, you in ordinary terms share a million/8th of your DNA and so jointly as the possibility is double that of non kinfolk of having a abnormality with the toddler, it nevertheless equates to in ordinary terms 5-6% danger. In different words it incredibly is nevertheless ninety 5% danger that the toddler would be thoroughly wholesome.

Close relatives are more likely to carry the same recessive genes. It's not guaranteed, only more likely. And the closer you are related by blood, the better the odds.
The recessive gene can be for a positive trait, or a negative one. That means that combining 2 recessive traits may give the child a better chance of being tall, blue-eyed, and handsome. But it also gives them a better chance of being short, ugly, bald, stupid, or SEVERELY retarded.
If you're fooling around with your cousin, stop. If you're thinking about it, stop thinking about it. Is he pushing for you to have sex with him? Maybe saying that it's OK, nothing will go wrong? If so, he's a horndog that doesn't have any brains in his head, so he's thinking with just his johnson. Do you want to give birth to a kid that dumb? Show him that you're the one with the brains in the family, and dump him on his butt.

Most of the time the baby would turn out fine. The problem is that in cultures where this is commonly practiced, often the grandparents were cousins, and their parents were also somehow related and it can cause a very very sick little baby.
Down syndrome has nothing to do with marrying your cousin. Children who suffer from inbreeding often have complex syndromes.

Well, believe it or not, many kings in Europe, that now rule, are fruit of marriages betwen cousings, and they are note that stupid. In very clasic families in Europe that happens.
Most of the cases, nothing happens (I am not a doctor) but there is a risk of course. What happened to you is very normal

Cousin marriage is legal in some states. Check your state laws.
The resulting baby would probably be okay, from what I've read about birth defects, genetics, etc.

No it doesn't. There's nothing wrong with having a cousin as a husband or wife. In Islam that's allowed. We see cousins as potential wives or husbands. We don't think it's wrong like Americans.

The baby will be fine. About the only issue I can think the baby may have is.... it'll likely be raised by someone not too smart.
