What were the difference men and women faced in the early history of japan regrading political and social and econmic changes? How did the goverment treat women? Did they give them any say?
Any help would be great, Web sites too.

Women in Japan had more rights and power than women in the equivalent time in Europe. The man was still the absolute head of the family, and the power structure was male dominated. But Japanese women could own property and even in some limited cases be political figures in their own right.

Go ask Amaterrasu sama - the Goddess who founded Japan - women have always been sacred here, though often only 'sacred vessels'
