Next year I want to learn how to play the piano but I live in an apartment on the second floor so even if I had that kind of money, I can't exactly buy a piano and take it up there. Can I take piano lessons but practice on a keyboard instead? If so what kind of keyboard should I get and what are the differences between a piano and a keyboard(Besides one being electric and the other one not)? Please provide the best details and advice possible. Thanks

You could buy a fully weighted 88 note keyboard. It has the same feel as an acoustic piano, sounds almost the same, and you can use headphones so your neighbors won't call the cops.
I suggest you get something like the Yamaha P-70 (~$600) or the Yamaha YPG-625 (~$800). Check both of these out on the Yamaha website. Korg also makes some godd models. Just remember, you want the "weighted keys" so that you get the right "feel" in the keys, and a full 88 notes like an acoustic piano. The sound pretty much depends on your personal tastes, just find one that sounds as much like a real piano as possible.

I've been working with the course for about a week now, and it's incredible. Just the practice aids and the different scales and memory techniques in Book 9 are worth the price of the course, alone! There are two things that make this course stand out. First, all the video and audio files are embedded in the lesson. I have yet to find another piano course that makes it this easy. It's so nice not to have three files going at the same time!

The second thing is that you actually get to play in each lesson! And the songs are not "Mary had a Little Lamb" types! From the Beatles to Bethoven, it's all there. I have several piano courses that I have ordered over the internet. This is the one I use because it makes learning fun! I'm amazed! Once you get the rhythms down, you really can sound like a pro! Great fun! Thanks for making this available at such a reasonable price. Anyone who doesn't grab this up is going to go the long way home! Joy!

Now ANYONE Can Learn Piano or Keyboard?

Yes, a keyboard can be just as effective for practicing. And the great thing is that you don't have to spend a ton of cash to get one that sounds great. If you look around on ebay, check out the Yamaha DXG-500. It's a few years old, so the price has gone down a lot, and for something that isn't top of the line, it sounds amazing!

A keyboard is fine. You just won't get the soft and hard songs a piano is able to get since a keyboard lacks a pedal. Yamaha are the best keyboard, IMO--very user friendly and give great sound.

Yep, it's the same. You can't afford a keyboard either. :-(
