He doesn't really want you out of his life. Unfortunately he says it just to get a reaction. Sadly enough I use to tell my wife the same thing, one day she did. I miss her terribly.

A lot is true but the thing is, people over exaggerate it. He may just want a little more space. I say many things I don't mean when I'm mad, only some of them are true. Talk to him seriously at a quiet moment when you're getting along.

Depends on the person, some actually express themselves better when angry. But there is the saying we only say things out of anger. If his actions go along with what he's saying, you might have a problem on your hands.

Less than 1%.
I think the message is: get this angry argument out of my life.
If you could both get the angry arguments out of your lives, it would be a good thing. Why not listen to the words and the message, not just the words?
Try couples counselling, learn to fight fairly.
good luck.

I used to say things in anger that I did NOT mean. I always apologized and regretted it, but I was still wrong to do that. I do not do it anymore. I know how hurtful comments like that are, but I do not think he meant it if your relationship is OK in all other aspects.
You may try asking him if he really meant that. That will give him a chance to apologize and will also let him know that his comments do hurt.

Why don't you pretend like you are going to (pack some things, talk about respecting his wishes etc.)... and then see what he does? Most likey he will apologize and you will know. If he doesn't stop you at all then you have your answer as well.
