I am a Christian, and I am tolerant. Doesn't that mean I have an open mind?

Goodness...of course it is. Being rational and having good sense isn't limited by religious belief!
Being open minded is being able to accept views that are opposed to your own, as well as several other things. Being tolerant of differences, being receptive to new or different ideas, and not narrow or conservative in thought, expression, or conduct. Religious belief doesn't necessarily make you close minded, uptight, or any other negative thing.

Not necessarily, tolerance and open mindedness are 2 different things. When you tolerate something you accept that someone else may believe it. When you are open minded you actually consider the merit of all opinions, objectively, you don't make quick decisions about ways of thinking or doing things and are very open to change. This really has nothing to do with Christianity.

Yes it is. A lot of mainstream Christians that you might see on TV (ex: politicians on the Fox News Channel) are the extreme right "Christians" who use their so-called faith to further their cause. Then you have the real Christians. The Christians who still believe that we're supposed to act like Jesus did. This means loving those who aren't loved by society, forgiving those who have done wrong to us, and giving to those in need. It sucks that so many people today have such a horrible sense of what a Christian truly is. But that's because some people have done what they do best...taken something beautiful and made it ugly.

The things of the spirit oppose the things of the flesh, and the things of the flesh oppose things of the spirit. Satan is the God of this world and he is a deceiver who takes captives at his will. If he does that at his will, who can resist being decieved?
