Well, at first glance, a scorpion is a poisonous creature with a deadly stinger, so yeah, it could be an enemy, not necessarily one who wants to kill you, but how about a neighborhood gossip with poisonous language undermining everyone else's relationships? It could mean any number of things. A dream dictionary can give you ideas to work with, but all you can get out of a single definition is an opinion what the symbol means to the author. You don't say anything about what the role of the scorpion was in the dream, did it sting you or someone else, was it peaceful, what was your reaction to it, where you were, who else was there with you, or what you were doing when the scorpion appeared. These are all factors in the interpretation, and you won't get a successful interpretation on trying to analyze one symbol alone.

Scorpion
To see a scorpion in your dream, represents a situation in your waking life which may have been painful or hurtful. Itis also indicative of destructive feelings, "stinging" remarks, bitter words and/or negative thoughts being expressed by or aimed against you. Your dream forewarns of a self-destructive and self-defeating path. The scorpion is also a symbol of death and rebirth. You need to get rid of the old and make room for something new. Alternatively, the scorpion may also represent a person who is born under the astrological sign for Scorpio.
To see scorpions floating in water, suggests that you need to let go of some pain and learn to accept the situation. You may be going through the three-step process of denial, acceptance, and finally moving on.

Books on dreams are not all that good, they are to general. Instead you should use Jungian psychology. What does a scorpion mean to you? Now you can start your interpretation.

that's a bit vague. what was this scorpion doing? was it attacking you? were you attacking it? was it colored? if so, what color was it? how did you feel when you saw this scorpion? were you scared? excited? panicky? all these things are important in determining an accurate dream interpretation.
