Having sex shouldn't make you gain weight unless you get pregnant. However, some girls do gain weight from going through puberty and acne comes with puberty also. You are not going to get rid of acne by having sex. I know 45 year old women that still get acne and they are married/have sex.

Your cycle can be affected by hormones, weight gain, weight loss, stress, birth control, depression..etc Sex usually only affects it when you become pregnant from having sex.

I'll try to answer your questions individually. First of all, I don't believe weight gain is associated with having sex -- unless, of course, the girl gets pregnant. I hope if you are mature enough to be having sex, that you're using protection, not only from pregnancy, but to avoid any STD's.

Secondly, there is nothing about sex that has anything to do with acne. Acne is a problem that most adolescents and teens have to deal with. I'm not really sure of the exact cause, but a lot has to do with hormonal changes and the fact that the skin produces an excessive amount of oil that clogs the pores. I have never heard acne described as heat bumps. Somebody has been filling your head with strange ideas indeed.

And finally, nothing will happen with your menstrual cycle unless you get pregnant. So going back to my first advice, just be careful and use common sense. You're fortunate that your parents are allowing you to ask these questions. Apparently they are comfortable with the idea of your having sex. So please be mature and considerate and protect yourself. I would suggest another thing. If you have questions about your maturing bodily functions, ask professionals, such as your doctor if you want the facts. Don't listen to your friends or anyone with "old wives tales". Okay? Good luck, dear.

Hi K, If you are having sex and gaining weight you are pregnant. Some women will have spotting or a light flow when pregnant, and a lot will not. Acne does not come with being pregnant, but if you have acne it may get better because you are pregnant. You need to see a doctor A.S.A.P...

lol the only reasons I can think for these theories are...
- a girl's skin might get better cause she's gone on the pill which helps acne
- a girl might put on weight cause she has a boyfriend so stays in a lot more & doesn't have to care as much about appearance cause now she's not out on the pull
- i suppose her cycle could stop if she gets pregnant...

If a girl gets pregnant from the sex she will gain weight.
Pregnant girls do not have periods.
Acne is age related.
Casual sex can be dangerous.
There is potential for unplanned pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases even if you use a condom.

It sounds like you are too young and immature to be having sex.
You should wait until you get older.
If you are having sex, or have already started, use birth control so that you do not get pregnant.
The last thing you need is a baby at a young age, most girls who get pregnant young get dumped (yes the father leaves you, he doesn't have to stick around, and they can leave).

Young girls with babies have a hard time in life, tend to be poor, their children have a hard time, and most times the US taxpayers have to support them.

Get a hobby that does not involve sex.
Play sports.
Go to the library.

Sex does NOT alter your body in these ways. It has no hormonal effect on you!
If you are stressed about having sex, this can affect your body in many ways, just like being stressed out over any other kind of thing.
Periods are controlled by hormones, and sex will not have any effect on your hormones, unless you stress out excessively about it or get pregnant.
Acne is caused by diet, hormones, bacteria and sometime can be linked to stress...the act of having sex will not affect it!
Your weight is also governed by diet and hormones, as well as genetics and can be affected by stress, but have sex is not going to change it!!!!!
You do not "mature" in any way, shape or form just by having sex. Your breast will not get bigger, and you won't get more "curvy" as many girls think.
It is all a myth, and quite silly when you understand how the human body works.
Also, dogs and cats go on heat...NOT humans!!!!
Good luck and please, please, PLEASE dont listen to silly myths like these ones!!

Yes, girls do mature when starting to have sex. You might have seen girls after a few weeks of marriage (in countries where girls normally have sex after marriage). Within a few weeks their look changes.

The acene is due to harmonal changes during puberty. Since, the harmonal changes sometimes give a feeling of warmth, perhaps they call them as heat bumps.

Girls cycle may shake due to emotional conditions, malnutrition, overweight and many such factors.
