Don't worry about him having feelings for her. He has some issues obviously. The next time he says that he is reminded of her, ask him why he isn't with her then. If he doesn't stop this, dump him, dump him, dump him.

Start talking about your ex. See how he likes that. A short term remedy, of course, and mostly just a salve for your own hurt as you imagine he will be upset too. But what if he's not? I guess what you will need to do is try to talk with him about it, say to him casually, at a time when it is not an issue, something along this line: "You and ___ must have had some really special times." If you're feeling especially brave, also say, "Do you sometimes miss her?" Either line will open up the door to a conversation where you can calmly find out what you need to know and maybe even grow closer. Or you could forget about this and always have it in the back of your mind. Either way, try to have more confidence in yourself. I'm sure you are a good person; he is with YOU now.

DUH. He still has feelings for her and is not really ready for a new relationship, but some people will grab onto anyone new rather than have to be alone. You don't give your ages but you both sound young. I would not get seriously involved with this person. You both have maturing to do.

yes. your BF has unresolved feelings for her...perhaps the two of you should take a "time out" so he can get a grip and re-group...you certainly don't need to hang around and listen to that crap
