Depends entirely on what you plan on doing with it and where you get it from.
You can do a lot of things with a journalism degree. You can work in many facets of television and written journalism, from researcher, fact checker, editor, proofreader to journalist, on or off-air. You can get jobs in totally different fields with it also, because you will have a Bachelor of Arts degree.
The better you do and the better the school and if you go on to Grad School (and don't forget the extracurriculars and job related work/internships!!!!! SO IMPORTANT) the better your job should be.
If you know what you want to do, and if that thing is Journalism, you should definitely reconsider your college choice. There are so many colleges with amazing English AND Journalism programs that I'm sure you could find. I have many, many recommendations if you need them.
Good luck!

Journalism is a great career, although it is far from being that lucrative. At best, you'll most likely achieve a comfortable middle-class living and never really be rich. However, it is an interesting and personally fulfilling career choice, especially if you are an inquisitive person who likes to write. I have a great lifelong friend who majored in journalism, interned a couple of summers at a local newspaper where I live in New York, and now is the beat reporter for the Yankees for the newspaper and has his name in the paper almost every day for stories he writes.
Go to a school where, even if you can't major in journalism you can still major in English. Make sure to write for the school newspaper, almost all colleges and universities have one. Furthermore, try to get some internships with magazines and newspapers, even if they are unpaid over your summer breaks from college. This is what my friend did and he has a job he loves. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for myself. He doesn't make that much more money than I do but he loves his job, has a lot of nice perks, and gets to go on road trips and watch sports. I hope some of this is helpful. Like I said, you'll never get rich as a journalist but I have never heard my friend complain about his job once, not once. And that's quite rare to find.

i think of Journalism is definitely one of those professions the place a level does not make you helpful. What delivers value as a journalist is the skill to write down nicely. to a pair degree, it may learn, yet for the main section, writing is a skills. So in case you have the skills initially, and you pick to tell memories, going to college in the two united states ought to merely serve that might actually assist you finely music your skills. And if so, it is not suitable the place you bypass to college. bypass to college the place your coronary heart tells you. do no longer worry with regard to the degree having value. you're what delivers value. i think of a level is neccessary, yet the place you get it is not suitable. If something a Canadian degree supply you a various perspective interior the arriving years interior the form of latest media which could have a worldwide scope.

Yeah, you probably should. When it's you & some guy with a college degree looking at the Rolling Stone editorial position, your gonna wish you had it. I would just get it now because you might regret it. Wish you the best. I'm considering getting a journalism degree as well.
