No. LA certainly has the population to sustain 2 teams ASSUMING that LA residents have the average American's interest in football. However, your average LA resident has significantly less interest in football than the average American, and many people from LA who are interested in football are much more interested in the USC-UCLA rivalry than they are in the NFL. So even though LA certainly has the population to sustain 2 NFL teams, it still can't do it because a large population doesn't necessarily translate into a large interest in the NFL. If a large population did always translate into a large interest in the NFL, then Mexico City and Tokyo would probably have 4 NFL teams each.

No, they couldn't even support ONE if given the chance(unless the team is winning). Sure they are bigger then Pittsburgh and Green Bay and a few others. Big difference is those areas are "blue-collar" areas and teams. L.A. are more of snobs about it. They only showed up when the team was winning. By the SIZE of the city they could support 2 teams, maybe a third. They would have to have the POPULATION to though. That is the problem. They don't have the FOOTBALL FANS. I hope that L.A. NEVER gets another Franchise since the people still won't go. I don't care if it is the second biggest media market.

No, they already have proven that, L.A. is a fair weather city when it comes to football. Then in 2002 they were favorites for the last expansion team, and couldnt even get a stadium plan done, so Houston won it. Then the NFL reniged on Houston getting a team and gave L.A. 10 more months, and they still couldnt do it.

well both the rams and the raiders have left so that shows something. I dont think LA can really support any football teams. new york and new jersey both combind to be huge football fans and the jets and giants do fine, but i dont think LA has as many football fans as NY. And every one in LA is porbably and oakland or san diego fan.

There's probably going to be an LA football team again someday. I can't imagine two though.

New York does it with the Giants and Jets (even though they're both technically in Jersey). If New York can do it, I dont see why LA can't.
