Do the hard pads contribute to injuries on big hits? Absolutely.
Should Patrick Eaves and a plethora of other NHL players learn to tighten their helmet straps?
Absolutely.
Should any player expect to come around from behind the opposition net without being met by a defender?
Absolutely not.
Play hockey with your head up and your helmet on tight and a lot of these injuries will be prevented.
I absolutely agree that those rock hard pads are over the top and dangerous, but they are far from the only factor in incidents like this one.

Its a clean check, by the book. But dirty by the players code. All these guys think they are tough, hitting a vulnerable guy, in the head. But, they wont throw that hit, when the guy is coming at them. You never saw these kinds of hits, years ago, because the players, had some respect for each other. Dont get me wrong, I love big checks, and seeing guys getting hammered. The pads, wont make a difference, if your not sticking your elbow, in a guys face.

Being 20years old and pregnant - isn't as undesirable as you think of. Your subject is probally greater applicable than maximum others. you're rather getting your-self worked up for no reason this is inflicting you rigidity and it is not reliable for you and your toddler. So first step is you should be greater comfortable and rigidity unfastened. I recommend you do no longer tell every person else till you're previous the "risk-free zone" so rather wait till you're least sixteen weeks pregnant in the previous sharing the information with something of your pals and kin. merely savour your being pregnant. merely given which you had misscarried in the previous doesnt recommend this is going to ensue lower back! perhaps final time wasnt meant to be. - issues ensue for a reason. You rather have a helping boyfriend - which no longer a lot of human beings have. keep in mind bypass on your medical doctors and get folic acid - and one pill an afternoon.

Grapes as commissioner???? That would ruin the game, he'd ban all the Russians! Although I do agree with ousting Bettman.

yeah, I know what you mean, problem is if you go for lighter pads, those pucks are still coming in at 100 mph, and it would sting like crazy if you got hit with one of those with normal pads. Volchenkov blocked almost 300 shots this year, and with lighter pads he would of broken every bone in his body. I'd like to see lighter pads, but if youre gonna block shots, then you need the heavier ones

Not a Cherry fan, but he's dead-on on this one. Pierre MacGuire has said the same thing.

For every topic that Cherry gets right, he gets another one completely wrong.

I agree. But Armstrong wears small shoulder pads, so i don't know how much they contributed to the impact. One thing I know for sure, they sure didn't help.

I'd take that commissioner deal in an instant! (; I hate Bettman with a passion, and I'd love to see anyone as commissioner except for him.
