Simple. If you dont want a stray cat/dog around your house, do you feed it. NO!!!! Because if you do it just keeps coming back for more. Same thing applies to the racist questions on yahoo. If you ignore them, and dont answer(feed) them they will go elsewhere. By giving them the attention they are looking for they are just going to keep coming back for more. Does anyone see the common sense behind that?

You are right. I agree but I bet most of all these people that agreed with you. Will most likely keep responding to those questions.

For the sake of argument...

It works in theory...but there will always be new strays to come, ie. new racists to come along.

I'd say (at least in a humans mind) a dead racist on your door would certainly keep the others away.

Sorry, but for anyones argument, I always try and find something wrong w/ it.

Plus thats the most over-used idea in 'anti-bully' treatment.

If you've ever been inside the head of a racist...well you'll figure out they don't do it so that they can receive some enjoyment from the anger in others...Thats not what racism is about. Racists know they make people mad, the only way you can make them think you don't care about it is to join in and make fun of other races too. Trust me, if you've never felt it, you can't put a label on it and say 'This is how racists think.'

The whole 'they look for other people to acknowledge that they're being racist' is only like...15% true. The reason people are racist is because they have an instilled hatred and desire to oppress other races. Simple. Thats actually one of the definitions of racism.

The answer is not in reporting posts. It is ignoring racism. However, there are far too many adults here who refuse to grow up enough to ignore them, so the cycle of everyone reporting everyone else for saying stuff that they don't like starts and continues in perpetuity.

'Hate speech' is just speech. If you don't like it, ignore it. That is not difficult, unless you have paper-thin skin...

Ahh yes, but once too many stray cats/dogs gather around your house it becomes a nuisance and a problem. Eventually you must confront these animals with a nice firm stick or with reasoned witty remarks and pithy responses.

All that I want to know is how the one above me gets away with using such foul language when I can't even write words found in the Bible such as A-S-S... whereas this one wrote motherf*****'s? Would there be a double standard even from
one to another???

It would appear to be common sense but bad things grow in the dark. Education is the answer to ignorance and hopefully these people will one day recognise their problem & 'soften' their views.

Who knows, one day the answer you give to one of their racists will open their eyes & allow the penny to drop. I live in hope as I've seen others wake up to their hateful ways.

Its True. These kind of vacuos individuals feed on disruption and anger. Don't waste your time giving them anything.

Or yahoo should do a better job regulating Yahoo answers and deleting accounts.
