we all have them....but most of us dont talk out loud to them...well not in public anyway....lol

Because children grow out of it and adults don't, and anyhow childrens imaginary friends are not gonna hurt you, but people who have a muliple personalities can be dangerious, haven't you heard of cases where somone has killed another and blames it on the other pesonality. Having a multiple personality is an illness not to be taken lightly, that is why they get put into mental institutions, but they don't stay there forever, medication can help an therapy. Because they dont think they ARE the imaginary friend, they just seek the friendship in an imaginary friend. When alults do it they are old enough to realize no one is really there and they are not them. i think.

because kids naturally grow out of imaginary friends and they aren't harmful, but someone with multiple personalities can be dangerous to themselves, it stops them leading a normal life, they need help.

ahhh...so true but we are supposed to outgrow our imaginary friends...I have just replaced them with cyber friends..much more acceptable and much more fun...lol
