with their life. A lot of black go to college and have good jobs, so why do some people only talk negative about black people.

Yes, there are a lot of black people making positive contributions to society. Unfortunately the good is easily overlooked in favor of the negative. No one invents such as the internet by themselves. However significant contributions
should not be ignored.

Philip Emeagwali, a computer scientist, is but one example. He uses his mathematical and computer expertise to develop methods for extracting more petroleum from oil fields.

It was his formula that used 65,000 separate computer processors to perform 3.1 billion calculations per second in 1989. That feat led to computer scientists comprehending the capabilities of supercomputers and the practical applications of creating a system that allowed multiple computers to communicate. He is recognized as one of the fathers of the Internet.

Supercomputers range in price from $30 million to $100 million, and computer companies had reservations about building them for fear few agencies would make such pricey purchases.

"At that time, the argument was, 'We shouldn't build computers that way because who can program them?' " said Emeagwali, who is also a civil engineer. "I answered that question by successfully programming them."

Future applications for Emeagwali's breakthroughs with the use of data generated by massively parallel computers include weather forecasting and the study of global warming.

Well people are stereotypical about a lot of things like how I think all white people that live in trailers are poor white trash, B/c if you look at statistics, Than you will know that there are a lot of Black people doing good and have $$, But the world will always view us as a third class citizen, But the only problem is the white people brought us here, we didn't ask to come, So white people enjoy us while were here b/c were not going anywhere now.

Look who controls the media. It's a way of keeping people in "their place" if you will. You have to look pretty hard to see positive depictions of black people on tv stations other than BET. People watch C.O.P.S. and think all black people sell drugs and commit crimes. Then you have sports and the majority of the attention goes to players that are self-centered bad apples. There are plenty of black people doing positive things. That is why there are publications that are centered around black americans. That is just American society. They will push anyone to the highest point and just love to see them fall down to their lowest. That is for all Americans.

People perpetuate stereotypes of all different cultures/groups/ethnicity's. Black, white, latino, european, homosexual, jewish, etc. Every single person at one point or another has been prejudged based on a stereotype. It's sad, and frustrating, but it will continue to happen until all people (black, white, latino, european, homosexual, jewish, etc.) stop doing it. It's not only one group that suffers from stereotypes, much like it's not only one group that does the stereotyping. That's just my opinion. Some people are just ignorant and small minded.
