i really liked the green mile, the shawshank redemption and stand by me. the rest of them are pretty cheesy, especially IT. i loved that book, but i will never ever read it again because it scared me so bad! i always tell people if they really want to be scared, read IT. but the movie version, i just laugh at.

Like many movies that are made from books, Stephen King's book are way better than the movies. But I do always end up watching them even though I don't expect much. But there is always a part of me that hopes that one of the movies will actually be good.

Actually, Stephen King novels translate to screenplays BETTER than most books !! I THINK this is because he is often involved in the screenplay writing !!

Movies that have tanked compared to the BOOKS are any of the Tom Clancy films.

I read Christine and was afraid to watch the movie. it was so wimpy compared to the book! Carrie was OK and The Shining. I can see why King didn't want to let any more books be made into movies.

I think "IT" was one of the best film adaptions from his books. Salem's Lot was not bad for it's time, but is laughable now. Misery was quite good also. All the rest are pretty bad. It is so hard to bring his books to life on film because he is such a deep writer. Funny that "IT" is the best and it was made for TV.

Not especially, I always like them at the beginning and somehow something happens near the end that ruins the whole experience.

No. There's huge gaps in the movies, essential stuff missing and replaced with garbage that has nothing to do with the original stories
