why does the water in my car battery come out? the rest of my motor is dry but around the caps for the battery, it be wet. i added some water recently but thats when it start doing it. its a new battery. why is the water coming out and will it harm the battery?

Did you add too much water? You're not suppose to fill it all the way up. Check the battery voltage when the engine is running. If it's over 15 volts, the alternator is overcharging it.

Your alternator is overcharging and boiling the acid inside the battery.

Yes. It will warp the battery case, and the acid will eat away at everything under the hood.

I'd get it checked out tomorrow, and then wash the affected area with baking soda and lots of water.

battery is being over charged.It is simply getting to hot.Do not add water add only electralite then charge battery. your alternator has different settings on it take it in and have the volts checked, you may be able to fix the prob without replacing anything.
