In the event of a gubernatorial vacancy, the New Jersey Constitution had specified that the President of the New Jersey Senate (followed by the Speaker of the New Jersey General Assembly) would assume the role of Acting Governor and retain their powerful role in the Senate (or Assembly). An Acting Governor would then assume the powerful governorship while retaining the reins of power in their house of the legislature.

Senate President Richard J. Codey is in charge for now, but the State House still belongs to Governor Corzine.

New Jersey is the most corrupt state in the Union. Even more that New Orleans, or Chicago.
It is probably some Democrat that Organized Crime has supported. I assume that the Lt. Governor is just another super rich commie, like Corzine.

Acting Governor Codey. NJ does not have a Lieutenant Gov., so the State Senate President steps in as Acting Gov. He filled in for Gov. McGreevey when he resigned.
