When more than half what I earn a week goes into the tank so I can go to work and college then yes I am struggling. When I have to choose between diapers for my child or gas in the tank, then I have a problem. When I have to choose between putting food on the table or being able to go to work I have a problem. I am being hurt by the prices as well as my child and I think that the Oil Companies are steadily padding their pockets while people are having to choose between everyday necessities and gasoline. There is no reason for a person to give themselves a 300,000 dollar raise for the year. Also this mess about prices rising because they are switching to the summer blend is BS. They have done that for years and it didnt sky rocket the prices. During holidays the prices jump because they know people are going to be using more. Prices on the weekend jump also. How is that so when the markets are closed. I think the station owners are gouging us as well. The price of oil went down but the price at the pump went up. That is the station owner doing that. Ever notice how every station has a differnet price. In one part of town the price is ten cents or more higher. In one part of the country prices are a dollar higher. They all get their fuel from the same place. If it is Shell it all comes from Shell. Same as if it were BP.

You are not alone. In sydney there is a direct relationship with the rising cost of fuel and basic commodities... Can you believe it... the toilet roll has increased 100% in price and for general basics like meat and milk, those have increased 20%. It's crazy... You can't get anything with $30 bucks anymore. It's AU$1.30 per litter here but still it hurts the pockets when the gas stations suddenly up their price from 1.30 to 1.40 plus just because of a holiday... That's just greedy... and they say "it's not because of the holiday"... that's dog poo!...

Lots of us are in the same boat. No answers or I wouldn't be working three job. You just get up and take it one day at a time and on really bad days you take it one hour at a time. You take a few minutes every day to do one nice thing for someone else even if it's only a smile when you need one yourself.
