I am graduating college in one year with a public relations/advertising major. Any tips concerning how to prepare for the job market?

Since you are still in school, take advantage of your Career Advisement Department (or whatever they callit) as they have lots of resources to help you get prepared for the job market, and often have listings exclusively for graduates as well as information on job fairs and internships. In addition, why not talk to one or more of your instructors - presumably they worked in the field at one time, and can give you some real world advice, and possibly some contacts.

I graduated with a degree in PR from Texas Tech University and I would advise you to move to a large city if you want to practice in a large firm. I would also go and get your MBA because it is a nice compliment to your PR degree.

PR is a very competitive field. Start networking now. Also, if you don't have any work experience in the field, see if you can get an internship, even if it's just part-time, for free.
