At the moment I think we're a joke in the world and we are probably viewed as a danger and a threat. Something we as Americans are unused to. We've always been the good guy.

Well, the rest of the world hates us for always interfering in the affairs of other countries, even though the US is usually the first country they come crying to when they need help with something.

Also, I notice people begging, borrowing and stealing to come here. If they hate the US so much, why don't they stay out of it?

And the funny thing is that a lot of people accuse Americans of "blindly believing what the media and government tells us" but then they do the same thing. So many Europeans and beyond think we all live like on Beverly Hills, 90210. Not true, idiots!

It is all to do with the underdog syndrome. Everyone roots for the underdog and boos the favorite.
When it comes down to brass tacks all these countries that boo us now will ask for our help in hard times before asking any other country.
Why is that so? Because they know that America is a good and benevalent country.
Do I worry that France doesn't agree with our policies? Hell no. But I will defend their right to disagree as will my government.

Everyone hates the United States? When was the last time you saw a boat load of Refuges rowing away from the United States?

While I'm not at all proud of the BS my government does, I often liken foreigners with snotty opinions of Americans to the pompus characters in a SouthPark episode, who drove Priuses and sniffed their own farts...

On the lighter side. Our German friends thought that Americans were like those seen on "Jerry Springer". Very sad indeed.

It's embarrassing. I'd like to not be associated with the deplorable decisions and actions of the administration. When I go on my European backpacking adventure this year, will I have to pretend to be Canadian to get laid? And to Mary below, If any other Western country would have me, you'd better believe I'd be on a raft rowing away from my vanishing civil liberties as fast as I could!

It is nice to be liked, but it is more important to do the right thing. Therefore I am saddened when I see Europe behaving in cowardly and immoral ways, and am not surprised that Europeans resent our protecting ourselves when they won't even do the same.

I really could care less about how anyone else feels about the U.S.....just like I could care less that my neighbor expresses his opinion that I don't mow my lawn every week like he does..
