2y=4-2/3x
y=(4-2/3x)/2

*****y=2-1/3x******

so you've got an equation to subsitute for y. it would look like this now:
2/3x+2(2-1/3x)=4
2/3x+4-2/3x=4
the 2/3 + and - cancel eachother out and you've got 4=4
