I am a frequent eBay buyer. How do I sell just one (1) item? When I select "Sell" I am taken automatically to a screen that asks for my credit card for monthly seller fees. Why would I be paying a monthly fee to sell just one (1) item? I don't know when I'll be selling again. I just want to try eBay it to see how it works. If it works out for me, I'll try to sell other items. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Hello,

I'm an eBay powerseller and have been selling since 2003. I've sold thousands of items to buyers worldwide. I'll be glad to help you.

eBay requires a credit card number for all sellers. You'll be billed for your listing fee and your final value fee (if the item sells). You don't have to pay by credit card, you can pay by Paypal or have your checking account debited if you want.

eBay just requires the credit card number as a way to collect payment in the event that sellers don't pay their fees. It is also to keep eBay a safe trading environment - requiring a credit card weeds out alot of people who may only be on eBay to operate scams

You will be charged a small fee for listing the item. eBay charges seller fees once a month. They want to ensure they have your info on where to charge the fees before you list.
