I installed a metal periscope dryer vent but it's real close to the gas line. It's a tight space so the gas line is touching the metal vent a bit. Should I be concerned that they touch since the vent can get hot?

it shouldn't be a problem but if it makes you feel better move one or the other so they don't touch. The gas pipe is steel, the dryer vent is tin, I wouldn't worry about the gas pipe getting a hole in it.

the dryer vent can't get hot enough to hurt the gas line, the only problem you have to worry about is the reaction between the metal of the gas dryer vent and the metal of the gas line. over time galvanic reaction could degrade the metal of the gas line and cause a pinhole.

There should be no problem. The thickness of the gas line is much more than the vent so if there is a problem, it will be with the vent.

You should try to move the gas line so that it does'nt touch the exhaust vent. You only have to move it just enough so the two do'nt touch.
This is'nt because of heat transfer, it's to prevent chafing due to vibration that can eventually lead to the gas line getting a hole worn into it & leaking.
Hope this helped, good luck!!
