friend for sure, but not a true one... we tend to watch our enemies closer, so there is usually less chance

Foe.

Friends do not want to hurt their friends and will not intentionally stab them in the back. If this happens inadvertently, it may seem worse because you are so hurt, not expecting this kind of behavior from a friend. A true friend, however, will not ever stab you in the back.

A foe is some one who is against you and does not care about hurting you. In fact they may seek to hurt you depending on how nasty the person is.

May you have many, many friends!

friend. Being stabbed in the back implies you weren't prepared for the downfall or attack. You always expect your foes to ***** about you, so it doesn't hurt as much as if a friend did it.

A so-called aka false friend. Since people always keep their friends close and their enemies closer they end up paying more attention to their foes and then thefriend swoops in and screws them over. Unfortunately that's the way life is sometimes.

a friend, becuase who cares what a foe does, and if it doesn't hurt you personally or emotionally, then what's the point in stabbing you in the back?

I would tend to say friend......most people have people they call friends when they really aren't. I don't have friends like that so in my case I will say foe, since ex husband isn't an option.
