There was an article in the Dublin papers recently that said some anthropological study said that the people of Ireland had the highest percentage of human beings with both jet black hair and BLUE eyes. According to the press relaeas I read, it's supposed to be a rare combination found primarily in countries with a heavy keltic presence. Notice it didn't say dark or dark brown hair, it said BLACK hair and BLUE eyes. Dark hair and blue eyes can be prevelant anywhere in southern Europe, but true black hair is rare amongst caucasions. The article went on to say how rare this combination is in people, but you know what? In Ireland we see this all the time. I have jet black curly hair and blue eyes, as do all my siblings and my mother. (Daddy was a ginger blonde). Therefore, it doesn't seem so odd to me. Take a walk down around where I live and you'll see all kinds of people with black hair and blue eyes. Elizabeth Taylor eat your heart out!
