My sister. She is 9 years older than I am. However in my famiily, Debbie's daughter is named Kari. Half of the family calls me Debbie half of the time and calls Kari, Karen,
I've gotten used to being called Debbie. Even out is public sometimes if someone says Debbie, I look.
I can't believe there are so many people that think negative of Debbie. It's true, it's a name of the 50's but I don't think anything negative of it.
You don't hear it too often these days, but there was a little girl named Debbie that grew up with my daughter who is now 23 years old.
I also grew up with a Debbie who was my best friend in the world who is now in her early 40's.
Most Debbie's I know, are actually born Debra and shortened to Debbie. Shortened isn't exactly the word, nicknamed would be a better choice.
Yes, Debbie Does Dallas, but that would be the last thing I would've thought of. I think many people grew up without Debbie's in their life.
Too me Debbie, is a wonderful sister , a good friend, friendly, someone you can always count on, down to earth, and someone who is very smart and pretty.

Debbie reminds me of two people. One is a hyperskinny diet-addicted divorced mom of two kids. She has OCD too, but she is as kind as could be.
The other person is a non-traditional (older) student who studies all the time and she is a very good student.

During the school class, we (3 of us) had talked. When she speaks out, our teacher interfered us and called "DEBBIE!,...don't." instead of her real name, Deborah. And she asked a teacher that he did overhear us.
And Deborah said to us that she had gotten her first time to hear DEBBIE in school since she was called DEB by her mom.
