My trashy neighbors have this huge trailer right behind their house. It can get really windy here, and the other day a board from their trailer crashed into the awning of my house and made a large dent. They leave their junk out there, and whenever it's windy, their stuff just blows into everyone's yard. There is no reasoning with these people. What can I do about this?

every city has a code enforcement officer whether it's own agency or the town cop.

I don't know about the trailer being illegal there (depends upon the state you're in), but in most states it is illegal to not properly take care of your land. If you want call the cops, and ask for them to come and talk to the neighbor. If it's against the law the police should know, and they might be able to talk the neighbors into cleaning up.

See if the neighborhood association or the city has an ordinance against it...if there is report it to the approrpiate authorities...most likely the zoning board or the Neighborhood Association.

In most states, it is NOT against the law to have a trailer in a back yard. If something of theirs did cause damage to your property, then you have the right to seek damages to get your property repaired.

Possibly nothing, read your laws, if it's against the law,
It's up to the governing body to enforce..in order:

1)Homeowners assn.
2)Township/City
3)County
4)State
5)Federal

It's going to depend on your local ordinances. It would be illegal in my neighbourhood. But then again, in my neighbournood, you can be fined for not mowing your lawn enough.
