The Sex Pistols were the original British punk band in rock and roll, yet every so called music intellectual dismisses them as some sort of circus act. Any guitarist who knows his salt will tell you that Steve Jones could play with the best, and John Lydon's (Johnny Rotten) lyrics were incredibly poignant. When one remembers these guys were only 21, 22 years of age when this music was written, it is especially impressive.

I'm sick of these narrow minded elitists in the rock and roll intelligencia constantly diefying the Clash and discounting the Sex Pistols. Granted the Clash were a good band, but ultimately the Sex Pistols broke more ground in their short life span.

i know what your talking about,
and it's so weird but i can totally
understand what your saying.
the clash are great, but the
sex pistols just had something.
i don't know, the sex pistols are my
favorite out of the two, plus i liked
every song from the sex pistols.
the clash had some songs that didn't exactly
make me jump up and down.

AMEN! The Sex Pistols are the best.......I totally agree with you. The Clash was a good band yes, but the Sex Pistols deserve some respect for the movement and following they made. Johnny Rotten had a certain type of appeal .....at the age he was when he wrote these songs he was WAY past the Clash.

I agree the Sex Pistols opened up the door, but The Clash kicked it in.

The Pistols. They have been the epitome of punk. Knock out one blinding album and then self destruct in a very dramatic way. The Ramones have been o.k. however the conflict have been given it slightly incorrect. They tried to equivocate punk with a style conflict mindset and punk substitute into by no ability approximately that on the beginning up. Honourable mentions bypass to The lifeless Kennedys, X-Ray Spex and The Damned who i offered tickets for final night to work out in December. can no longer wait.

The Sex Pistols NEVER wanted nor do they now want RESPECT! LOL! You've missed their whole point!!!!! It's the posers who listen to them that want the respect. Their real fans who 'get them' don't want or need anyone's respect. I can see which one you are ;-)
