I don't want someone to do my homework. I am in college. This isn't even for a grade. If I wan't someone to do my homework, it would be for something that is for a grade.

You don't want someone to help with your homework; you want someone to DO your homework. I did mine. You do yours.

Assuming you're trying to find the roots of the equation (that is, solve for x): use the quadratic equation. See below.

For instance:

2x^2 + 16x + 30 = 0

a = 2
b = 16
c = 30

Substitute in for a, b, and c:

x = (-b +/- sqrt(b^2 - 4ac)) / 2a

x = (-16 +/- sqrt(256 - 240)) / 4
x = -4 +/- sqrt(16)/4
x = -4 +/- 1

The roots are:
x = -5
x = -3

What are the directions? Do you want those factored, do you want the zeros, the derivative?
