our car a/c works. but it only comes through the defrost vents. when turning it to the floor or the dash vents it doesnt come through. i cant find any thing in our manual to cover this problem. and if i wanted to spend the money to fix it i would take it to the shop before any of you say"take it to the shop"

under your dash is a vaccum control box and 3 lines come from it...... make sure all the lines are ok...... its located by the glove box right hand side of dash......check to see if all lines are on and that the control cable is still connected to it....... which allows it to transfer the flapper to vent.....

When the control goes bad they always default to defrost, since that's the one thing you can't live without some days. The control for the vent doors is vacuum powered, so you could have too little vacuum to it or it could just be bad.

Check the vacuum hoses from the manifold to the a/c.

there is a vacuum line that controls this function. it is either off or leaking
