I agree with the other you are kind of young for this.
But Why am I to judge? I was younger than you when I converted and I've stayed very content, even if my parents are disappointed, they are no where near disowning me.
As for what you call only practicing "good" magic, there is no word that I'm aware of. It's only magic.
The book of your familys god says witchcraft is evil, don't hold it against them. It's better they believe their religion than shrug it off. Personally, it was very difficult for me to keep my religion from my family, I had to hide the books and incense and such that I bought it was difficult and stressful. It took years for them to know, and afterwards it was much easier. At your age it's not only understandable but a very good sign that your parents would be worried for you (it means they love you! Lucky!).
If you practice witch craft you are a witch litterly but everyone chooses their own name. if you call yourself a "white witch" you'll be in for a lot of bashing from fellow pagans as magic isn't colored.
Wicca in general is usually a good place to start, when you want to practice a blessing and healing path.

I am not against your curiosities... I am Pagan myself. However, I am not inclined to encourage you to sneak behind your parents' backs. Uncool. Perhaps you will not be able to study your curiosities just now... perhaps you will need to wait until you are 18 and have the freedom to make such choices on your own. So be it. So let it be. So mote it be.

What you describe would simply be called witchcraft. Paganism and witchcraft are not synonymous, meaning they are not one and the same thing. Wicca and witchcraft are not synonymous. Likewise, Wicca and Paganism are not synonymous. Paganism is the "umbrella" term for alternative earth-based belief systems like Wicca and Pecti-Wita, like Christianity is the umbrella term for Christ-based belief systems like Catholicism, Protestantism, etc. There are many Wiccans who do not practice witchcraft. There are also many other forms of Paganism. Asatru, Dianic, and Celtic to name a few. There is also Celtic Shamanism, the European version of Siberian shamanism. Shamanism is not "unique" to Native Americans, and is very similar in practice to witchcraft. Shamanism is another one of those "things" that isn't a religion OR a spirituality per se, but a practice, a "thing" one does. Also, *all* these "things" are lifestyles, not Sunday morning "duties".

Here's the kicker... it is possible to be a Christian Witch, because witchcraft is NOT a religion, OR a spirituality. Maybe this will clarify the distinction... it is not possible, (altho some will argue this, it's just MHO) to be a Christian Wiccan, or a Pagan Christian for example. Why? Because the two belief systems clash in too many places. One allows communion with many dieties, one allows worship of only ONE God. However, witchcraft is not a belief system, just a practice, it carries no such requirements to follow any dieties at all, so it can be followed right along with a belief system like Christianity. In fact, there are *many* Christian witches out there.

Witchcraft, itself, is a practice, a thing you do, an action you take. So is shamanism.

Religion is a *group agreement* (congregation) on specific beliefs.

Spirituality is a *personal understanding* (your own beliefs) about a belief system.

You have much to learn. Go slow. Be thorough in your quest to find a path, and be willing to "put off" some things until the time is *right* to learn them. But be honest. With yourself first, with others as a matter of course. That's the "number one" rule in *any* true path, be it orthodox Christianity, Pagansim, Hinduism or any other *true* belief system. You mention you like to meditate. I should think your meditation practice would have taught you that much already. ;)

One of the best ways to start learning about witchcraft and Paganism is to read mythology. Go read the *real* Brothers' Grimm stories for example, and then branch out from there to other authors, say, go find the Mabinogion (a celtic mythology treat), or the Poetic Eddas (Norse/Asatru mythology)... not Disneyland's band-aided versions. Greek and Roman mythology are just as helpful. There's many more sources, you have a lifetime to read them all. This will not only help you learn that magic is not colored, but give you the reasons "why".

I think you should wait until you have grown up a little more. In the meantime, maybe you could spend the time on studying many spiritual ideas, not just about the Craft, but different religions in general, if you can get access to different ideas on the web, or check a book out of the library without your family getting upset. There is a reason why it is traditional to keep silent about such things, if you tell your family about it right now, they already think such things are evil, and it's not likely to get any better from there. I was raised Catholic, and waited until I left home before I did any serious searching in the Craft, but I did alot of reading on things like eastern religions, meditation and things like that while I lived at home, they didn't get upset with me for checking out books that didn't have anything to do with the Craft. They know that I am Pagan now, but then again I am a big girl now, and have been out of the house for years. You need to be careful about this, if you are serious about it, and if you are serious about it, spend a few years just studying, get a good foundation about the beliefs, the ethics, and the principles behind it, without trying to cast spells, or collecting a bunch of weird stuff for your parents to find in your room and get weirded out over. But that's up to you what you think you can handle, but in real life, if a child from a Christian family asks me about it, I tell them to come back and ask me again when they are 18, until then I think it's up to your parents to see to your spiritual education, and that is thier right as your parents. When you turn 18 then it's your right to practice whatever else you want to. but then again I also say that to the kids who ask in real life, because I can get sued to talking to them about it too...

If you are serious then you should start reading any and all info you can get your hands on dealing with celtic myth and celtic paganism. I would suggest Gods and Heroes of the Celts by Marie- Louise Sjoestedt and then Celtic Mythology by Pronsias MacCana. And you would be called a pagan if you are interested in what you describe. It has nothing at all to do with black magic or the occult nor do pagans worship the devil. They have a great respect for the earth and all natural. They worship the old gods and goddesses.

I'm pretty sure you would be a wiccan. I think if you do some research on Witchcraft and perhaps read some books on it, they can help you get started. However, it is not a good idea to hide it from your parents. You should sit with them calmly and tell them what you want to do, whether they support or not. Maybe asking around for local witches in your area can help you get started.

I am chirstian and use to be wiccan, you would be called a white witch, you know what i am going to say...so I will try to be nice, I have had some really badluck with the rule of three and you never know when it will come back to bite you in the but, so be real careful when casting spells. No one can control the rule of three. From what I hear from white witches, it takes alot out of a person just to cast good spells. I was a black witch, so it didn't take much for me to cast a spell. But here is the kicker, even being a good witch, you could still bring bad things into your parents house because if it offends God and you start to notice weird things happening in your house, then you have invited a curse into your house with your witchcraft. I am not telling you not to practise it, because you may have to learn the hard way to see what I mean about this curse, if you start to experience nightmares or others do, or ghostly things, then you know that your witchcraft as brought something into the christian home that should not be there and you may want to abandon your faith like I had to.

I wish you blessings on the path that you are considering. Remember you will be 18 in only four short years. You might want to just do general studying about practicing until you turn 18. This is an important decision and giving it time and much thought can't hurt. Blessed Be.

The first question to ask yourself is - why?

Do you think it'd be "neat" to do "k3wl spells"?

Do you think it would make you "cool"?

Do you understand that there is no "white" or "black" magic? Magic is a tool. It is not good or evil. It is the intent of the person using it that defines whether it is good or evil.

If your parents think that magic is evil, and your mother was in the hospital for something, would you want to cast a healing spell on her? Even though she thinks that it is evil? Would you ask her permission to do so, or would you "do it anyway" because you know that she'd say "no" because she doesn't want anything to do with magic? Do you understand that doing that could be considered "black magic", because it's doing something against someone else's will?

You say you don't "ever" want them to find out. Do you really want to lie to your family for the rest of your life? Is that any way to be "good"?

I suggest studying/practicing kundalini yoga and meditaion.
Aleister Crowley gets a bad rep, but I suggest you read his works. His work with sigils is closely tied with many ideas in quantum physics and has inspired ideas like the new fad "The Secret." Watch the movie "What the bleep do we know?" I feel it washeavely influenced by Crowleys ideas.
