Well, maybe not flying, but, I replaced my spark plugs and cables recently, all has been well. Before I replaced them I noticed the same thing. I don't know a whole lot about engines but, the arc is located next to the main cable that comes out of the distributor. It looks like a clip type connector. It was rainy today and it took quite a while to get it started. Now I can see the spark and the truck is chugging along. If I give it a lot of gas it seems okay, but when it slows down or I give only a little gas it sort of sputters. Any ideas?

I'm sorry for my lack of clear description. The arc is not coming from the spark plug wires, it's actually a white plastic clip with 4 thin wires wrapped in cable hosing.

The picture show where your ignition coil is. Either the coil wire isn't installed all the way or the ignition coil is cracked, corroded, or just plain bad.
