I always ask my self what is the worst that could happen if I do this. I guess the worst that could happen is that he can call and be really rude.
But if you don't try then you could miss out! Even if friends is all you end up, you can never have too many friends.

I'm sure it gives the staff something new to talk/laugh about for a minute.
I have worked as a server for many years and have never known of a co-worker following up on any thing like that.
But it doesn't hurt to give it a shot.

I am a server in a restaurant and on occasion get somebody giving me a number and it is very flattering. I am married and do let them know that when they offer, but if I wasn't married I could possibly consider. If you don't take the chance then that might be the one who got away. The worst that could happen is he won't call.

No way, it's a great idea. just make sure he's not married. My friend is married and girls leave him numbers all the time. Of course he can't call them, (he's MARRIED) and they come back all pissed and yelling at him and stuff. It's soooooo not cool if they're married. Otherwise, go for it.
