Only if I was going to close the account.

When I opened a new bank account a few years ago, I kept my old one until the transition was over.

I made a withdrawal for $0.11 to close my account out! The teller actually asked me if I wanted a bank check (which cost $20, but is free for customers of that bank).

If your bank charges you a monthly fee then you need to withdraw the 19 cents and close the account or keeping it there will cost you money in the end.

Is 19 cents going to cover the cost of gas to drive to the bank? If it doesn't why bother?

I wouldn't feel too silly as long as I told them that I wanted to close the account after I got the money from it. I mean, they don't let you keep a bank account with a $0.00 balance, do they?
