packages because the driver side and passenger side were different lengths (and the packages contain two refills the same length). So instead of paying $5 I had to spend $10, it is true I now have an extra set of refills, if I remember where I put them when I need to replace again 4 or 5 years from now.

If they were rubber type refills you could have bought the long pair and cut one refill down.

You didn't HAVE to buy the two to a package ones (if it was an emergency situation where that was all that was available, I apologize if it sounds crabby.) Write down the length for the respective sides and go to the auto parts store. They sell singles for much cheaper. Generally, I've noticed most newer cars do have separate sizes, with the driver's side always being longer.

I ended up getting the Teflon ones because like you said, they didn't have to be replaced for three years on my old car (we get a great deal of snow and below-zero temps here.)

And your question is?

If it is "Why do I have to buy two refills?" the answer is because you bought a vehicle with different sizes on each side of the windshield.

If you are asking why you have to buy two of each, you don't. My auto parts store sells them one to a package. In all sizes. Lots of people only replace one blade, not both.

maximum modern-day autos do choose distinctive sizes of wiper blades, often a motor accessory save would have a chart which will teach you which ones of them to get, failing that, it takes yet a 2nd to get the inch tape out. As for Bosch blades, those are the only ones I ever use, they're something yet crap! i discover they final longer, artwork extra suitable and squeak under the different type. i could stay removed from Valeo nonetheless, they're crap!
