I had to blow up balloons for a party recently and I kept popping them. My girlfriend was getting mad at me because she thought I was doing it on purpose. I want them to be as full as possible (they should at least have a neck) and I always think one more breath and then I will stop, but then BOOM!
How do you know for sure when they are as full as they will get? Does anyone else like to blow them up too big?

To repsond to your comments: Most of them were accidents, but there were a couple in the middle where I knew I should stop but it was just too much fun not to do it. And yes, I am a distance runner - 3-5 miles/day anyway.

I have a balloon fetish, but of the non-popping variety, so I have the same problem. Fine line between getting the neck to come out with the balloon tight and going too far and have it burst.
Here are some tips I've gathered from talking to other looners-
Make sure to stretch the balloon out beforehand.
You can also "preinflate the neck". Close your hand over the big part of the balloon when you start to inflate it, thus forcing the air to fill up the neck of the balloon. Do this a couple of times, and the neck will inflate easier and fuller.
To get the balloons bigger overall, blow up the balloon about 1/2 way, tie it off at the neck, use a rubber band, or just pinch the neck closed, etc. Then lean/ sit on it using your body weight to fill the balloon out under the pressure. That helps to stretch it out too. Even in general, blowing up a balloon 2-3 times will stretch it out and enable you to get some more size the next time. (the problem with this is that you can only reinflate this way and try and max it out more a few times before the latex becomes so stretched that it can't take as much internal air pressure as it did before. I normally stop trying to reblow up a balloon all the way after about 3-4 times. )
The other thing to consider is the balloon itself. The balloons that you get at regular stores, party stores, etc are rather cheaply made and the quality of the latex isn't great. Best thing to do is get balloons from high quality manufacturers. The better the grade of latex, the more sturdy it will be and take more to burst (but the annoying thing is that when they do burst, the louder the bang).
The ones I prefer are the Qualatex brand. Thicker, higher quality latex than regular ones.
Here are some online balloon stores you can look through to see what all is out there:

floor out your self and moist your fingers. Balloons stick to you because of the residual static electric powered value on your body and the charged nature of the balloon, the act of inflating it stresses it and motives the price. in case you eliminate your own static value by technique of grounding your self out, touching a pipe, or plugged into the floor of an electric powered socket (little probability of a marvel by technique of doing that) then you definitely will discharge your own static electricity. A balloon received't stick as extremely if it has a damp floor to intervene with it. The slippery floor will let the balloon slide off your hand. an identical and a extra lasting result will be executed with known hand cream.

To be honest, i have blown up many balloons for kids partys and you dont have to blow them up that far,, they dont even have to have the neck on them cause when they do it is alot harder to tie them also..

It can be a lil annoying when a man doesnt recognize his strength and the ego takes over... you'd prob be a good distance runner with those lungs.
