I am making a reference to Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton but only on their race and gender and not their policies. Forget about policy I am simply wondering what Americans would be ready for first. Personally I think any non white person male or female is just wasting time and money and proving what the rest of the world already knows. America will never elect a non white candidate no matter how great their policies are. This is not opinion it is fact. look at the history all white men!

Hopefully they will go for the best qualified candidate again, not like the loser we got in the 1990's.

That is the question America has been asking for a long time.
The argument winner was that women had actually been a minority longer than blacks and so they deserved it more. I think that Barak and Hillary have both asked themselves and each other this question. Clearly the only way to open that door is to unite a black man and a white woman into the presidency. Barak and Hillary are using this election to do just that. By running separately they monopolize the democratic side leaving little room for anyone else. Remember Obama asking Hillary if she was going to start campaigning when he did and that it was time for her to jump in? Remember him asking her if she would be interested in being his running mate? I think they have a beautiful plan. Whoever wins the democratic nomination will choose the other to go on the ticket. David Letterman asked Obama about this very thing and he didn't rule it out. Obama and Hillary would be a strong almost unbeatable ticket and a win - win situation for blacks and women. In other words they need each other not only to ensure the democratic nomination for one of them but to also ensure beating the republican opponents.

I disagree. If a worthy black candidate were selected, millions of white Americans would vote for him. Look at all the support Obama has been gettting, much of it is from white people. I don't accept your insinuation that America is a racist nation. There have been many more whites than non-whites in our country for most of our history, so naturally only a white could be elected.

I believe that Clinton will defeat Obama because she is more moderate than he. Obama is much too liberal to win the nomination. I believe that Colin Powell would have been a good candidate except that he was humiliated by giving that speech with all the misinformation in it. Too bad. He may have been a good president.

So the question is are Americans more racist or sexist? Hmm.

Saying that it's not opinion it's fact that Americans won't elect a black president because in history there hasn't been one is absolute crap. That's still your opinion. History doesn't show what happens in future. That's suggesting that Americans haven't evolved at all. That's a pretty pessimistic and unsupported take on Americans.

I'd like to think that a large majority of people in America will vote on policies not on race or sex, because I like to be opptimistic and think that people aren't that awful (of course there's other factors in why people vote to, but that's not worth getting into). The 'wondering what is America ready for?' question is a stupid cover up for the real question that you ask which, like I said is 'Are Americans more racist or sexist?' Guess we might find out.

If everyone in America is like you though, I guess the answer is more racist than sexist. Maybe you have answered your own question. Of course in reality, it's not a question that can be answered, because in answering, most people will bring their own prejudices to the answer.

Look at the history of black leaders all total failures. Papa Doc Idi Amin Muggabe the list goes on and on not one successful black leader in history. They are known for their policies of corruption. Why do you think all the dark skinned people of the world want to migrate here. Pretty simple to get away from the corrupt leaders of their country. So would it make good sense for us to elect a dark skinned person to lead out country when they have shown throughout history to tear a country down not build it up?

I would not be too sure if i were you. You evidently never watched the last election in Tennessee how Harold Ford Jr did against one of the big est crooks in the history of politics and he almost beat him. His opotent ran false and misleading adds on tv to beat the man and its a know fact the man got beat by dirty politics. Harold Ford Jr is a black man incase you do not know..it was a very close race and the man was almost elected us senator.

The right man could get it done. I know he has stated that he has no interest in politics but Colin Powell comes to mind. That is a man I could vote for with no regard to race.
I think there are far too many people who simply don't like Hillary Clinton. I wouldn't vote for her even if she promised to return the white house china.

A woman.

The world is already in enough disrespect. To put a non white person in leadership, it would be disaster!!
No it is true that there has never been either in office before. But, I believe a woman would do this world some good. Maybe we could eventually all get along. A woman represents leadership and genuine concern for others.

If the Black leaders (so called) such as Sharpton, Jackson and the NAACP continue to tear down the real qulified Black acheivers that have made it to the top we would have already had a Black President. The Republican party is the only ones who are color blind to a person seeking office. Republicans gave you the first Balch Secretary of State and the first Supreme Court justice. But did the so called Black leaders hold them up as examples for our youth ? No. They tore them down, called them names and did their best to smear their names. The Democrats talk a good game, but all the Blacks get from them is a generation of welfare and public housing addicts.
