Is it worth it? how much do you get for sperm and eggs. My friend and I are thinking about it. I've heard that extracting the egg from females is a difficult procedure. Is this true?

Although I have little direct experience, I do not like to see a (reasonable) question expire unanswered.

"in some cases $15,000 or more -- for selling eggs to an infertile couple. And sperm banks routinely pay men from $65 to $500 for their sperm depending on how much is donated and whether the sperm owner releases his identity"

The second source says they are trying to make egg sales illegal in Arizona.

Third source says egg donation can "be a lengthy, painful and potentially dangerous procedure involving the injection of a powerful drug known as follicle stimulating hormone, or FSH. Medical experts believe 1 per cent of women undergoing this can suffer serious side-effects know as ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome (OHSS) that in extreme cases can prove fatal.

Hope these help.

Sperm is much easier to donate than an egg is. All you have to do is spill in a cup if you're male. For a woman there is actually some surgery involved. Plus women only have a limited number of eggs while men can continuously produce sperm.
