A vasectomy need only be done once. It last the rest of your life. I got mine 20 years ago. Nobody has become pregnant.

It was the best 22nd birthday present ever. I didn’t and still don’t want children.

Or do you mean how long does the surgery take? When I got mine it took about 10 min. Today with technology it can probably be done faster.

For the rest of his life. Sometimes a guy will have a change in his life that means he wants kids after all, and surgeons will try to undo the vasectomy, but the success rate is pretty poor -- about 40% actually are able to father children after reversal, if I recall correctly. Vasectomy should always be considered PERMANENT.
