I despise murdering unborn children at will, I feel it is every Americans right to bear arms, I feel it it wrong for gays to wed, I feel it's wrong to burn the American Flag, I don't agree with the liberal attitude to give tax dollars to the lazy people, I am a conservative because I have the ability to think. I am a conservative because the liberals support everything that is wrong with the USA.

Yes, I would, although I might be considered libertarian by some. Many call me a Goldwater conservative.

When I call myself that, I mean that I support the Constitution and the federal system. I believe that the federal government is restrained by the Constitution, and that states are not subsidiaries of the federal government.

I also believe in limited interference in the economy. Our current system of subsidies and tariffs creates a drag on our economy, and should be shelved.

I believe that a government that forcibly takes from one to give to another is immoral. The concept of private property is the foundation of our rights.

Finally, I believe we should take an active role in defending our borders. As a nation, we have a right to determine who may or may not enter our country.

Now, here are some things that aren't truly conservative: nation building(Iraq, Afghanistan), gay marriage bans, flag burning amendments.

If I am not violating others' rights, I should be free to do those things which I enjoy. That is the hallmark of real conservatism.

To be Conservative in today's world is to be:
1) Fiscally Responsible: Money is best left in the hands of the Indivividuals who earned it. American's are the most generous people in the world in terms of Charity. If we were not taxed to the extent we are we would give more money to charity. Not to mention the economy. The Economy is not run by the government and regulation, it is run by the individual who spends or saves money.
2) Social Responsibility: As a Christian Society, our nation has many traditions and ethical beliefs. Living an ethical life is important and there is no such thing as relative truth. To say one person's truth is ok and another person's truth is ok, despite them being contradictory is rediculous.
3) Limits on Government: The Constitution restricts the Federal Government to specific enumrated powers. We should return to that specific set. Big Government is what the Founding Fathers rebelled against, why do we allow it to return in the country they founded?
4) Defense: Recognizing that there are people who despise us and want to kill us is common sense. Doing something about it is common sense, whether it be military action or other action. Appeasement doesn't work.

Here's the key: Not all Republicans are Conservative.

Conservative means basically:

1. People should do for themselves
2. People can do for themselves
3. People should be accountable for their actions
4. The needs of the few do not outweigh the needs of the many.
5.. Those who truly cannot should receive charity
6.. The government is a neccesary evil at best
7.. Freedom. democracy, and a free market are the noblest goals
8. Lastly - The Constitution is the final arbiter of law, there is is no appeal from it, and it means what it says.

I consider myself fiscally conservative but that doesn't make me a conserative.
By fiscally conservative I support tight reigns on government spending. I believe the States should have more control over their own programs.

I would say yes. For me it means I usually vote for conservative candidates because members of their party seem to be better able to bring an organized effort to get things done.

I describe myself as "pissed off" by people who call themselves conservatives.

The US is attempting to implement "democracy-at gun-point" in a nation embroiled with ethnic and religious tensions. The Iraqi people know why the US government is killing their people and destroying their cities, which makes their resistance quite logical. They realize that a cruel and greedy imperialist government needed to assert its military might on what they anticipated would be a weak target so it could begin implementing the Bush Doctrine and the Project for the New American Century. Halliburton, Bechtel, Lockheed Martin, and many other cogs in the military industrial complex were itching to see their profits skyrocket, and Iraq appeared to be a ripe plum for the picking. Most importantly, oil was too valuable of a commodity for a self-respecting Twenty-First Century world power bent on global domination to leave in the hands of "mere Arabs". Why wouldn't the Iraqis feel enraged and resist invaders, plunderers, and thieves?

US troops in Iraq number over 140,000. The occupation started in March, 2003. The Bush tyranny continues to refuse to commit to an eventual withdrawal of US forces. Bush and his minions lied to Congress to launch the invasion, defied the UN and international law, and, according to John Pike of GlobalSecurities.org, are establishing 12 of what the Pentagon propagandists call "enduring bases" in Iraq . To translate from "Pentagonese" to English, an "enduring base" is a permanent base. Despite the hollow propaganda of spreading freedom and liberty, the US government's actions smack of those of a tyrant intent on colonizing the sovereign nation of Iraq .

Conservative> Tough on crime, traditional literal interpretation of the constitution, anti-gun control, anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage, strong 1st amendment rights, lower taxes, smaller govt, strong military, strong foreign policy, pro-business, etc.

I think the biggest reason for my belief in conservative values is my belief in God. My strong stance on moral issues is what best defines any conservative in my opinion.

social liberal......political conservative....to me it means not handing out more than you take in and making people responsible for their own lives instead of me having to pay for them and their mistakes......sorry, you caught me at tax time and I am unhappy with working so hard to pay for so many who just play the system.
