Off course the major political problem after WWII was the formation of the State of Isreal. Jewish people had a lot of sympathy after The Holocaust and the United Nations was anxious to help as was most European countries and USA.

Another often overlooked polictical problem in the Middle East after WWII was the admission of Turkey into NATO. It would take too long to explain why that was done but it was a political problem.

The Suez canal was also a political problem at that time. A major war was fought over control of that canal not long after the end of WWII.
