What is more absurd religion or astrology?

What is more absurd believing that a contradictory, violent, racist, scientifically inaccurate Bronze Age work of fiction is the unquestionable word of an all loving super being who created everything including pain, suffering & disease, but failed to provide any evidence for his own existence. Or that there are 12 different personalities and everyone with the same one lives the same life and this is decided upon by the month of your birth? Hmmm-tough one.

It depends: if you think that your life and future is determined by planets, then that's pretty absurd, isnt it? And if you think that your life and future is somehow an offering of thanksgiving to a god who killed himself (basically) so you could go to heaven, then that's equally absurd. The last part of your question, however, may deserve the prize for absurdity: the principles of astrology do not suggest that "there are 12 different personalities and everyone with the same one lives the same life and this is decided upon by the month of your birth" ......where does it say that "everyone lives the same life"? Where does THAT absurdity come from? What scientifically inaccurate piece of fiction have you been reading or imagining?

Other than that one glaring absurdity, i think the point you make is valid and worth considering.

Both in my opinion. Even if you believe in other gods you are considered to be an atheist.

But Astrology is made up, like flying carpets, unicorns, elves, sprites, ghosts, Atlantis, genies, ice giants, wizards, reflexology, U.F.O.s, E.S.P., dowsing, remote viewing, tarot cards, tea leaves, angels, demons, numerology, spell casting, dragons, Loch Ness Monster, yetis, and auras. All magical thinking that some say is real despite the lack of evidence. A too many are in a fantasy world and not science literate.

The reason that you have computers and the Internet is due to science. None of the above "beliefs" have done anything to benefit humanity. For better or worse (paraphrasing Mr. Sagan) science delivers. We can survive without religion or astrology but not without science.

well if god is real then he made the planets and stars and aligned them in a certain way for a reason. and besides astrology explains nothing about the big picture it just says whose personality is compatible with yours and what days you'll be lucky and what days you won't. so i'm sorry if some over-zealous chritian called you a pagan and that you would one day burn in hell for your sins but i think you are taking the stuff a little too seriously if you compare it to a religion.
